General Information
for the Conference Organizer

Saint Malo is a non-profit retreat and conference facility owned by the Archdiocese of Denver and operated by the Sodalitium Christianae Vitae. It offers programs and use of facilities to groups for religious or religious-education purposes. Due to its purely religious and spiritual mission, Saint Malo is not available to groups for recreational or profit making programs.

Saint Malo has a variety of accommodations and meeting rooms which may be reserved for weekdays, weekends, overnight programs or day use programs.

Overnight programs

Groups using overnight accommodations are scheduled on the basis of the type of program they are having, the type of accommodations desired, and the number of people attending, and meeting room needs. Groups desiring both Friday and Saturday night stays will receive first preference. Occasional one-night weekend openings are available.

Day use programs

Day programs may be scheduled for weekends and/or weekdays for the entire day, part of the day, or the evening.

Chapel (Inside the Main Building)

The Chapel inside the main building is open 24 hours per day to all guests for meditation and to groups for small services.

The Chapel on the Rock (Saint Catherine of Siena Chapel)

The Chapel on the Rock is available for all group services, including Catholic weddings, but must be reserved in advance.

Meeting Rooms

Meeting rooms are assigned according to the needs, size and activities of the group. The largest meeting room – the Casey Room – accommodates approximately 200 guests.

Meals/Food Service

Meals are served cafeteria style and must be arranged in advance. Food is served for one-half hour at 8 a.m., noon, and 6 p.m. Since food is available only at those times, early or late arrivals should be advised to purchase meals/snacks en route. Vegetarian and special diet requests are honored whenever possible and must be made in advance. Coffee and tea breaks may be ordered with pastry, fruit or cookies if desired. Socials are also available upon request. The Conference Organizer is responsible for giving Saint Malo staff a guaranteed number for each meal. This number is due seven days in advance of the program and is the minimum number used for billing.

Planning a program

The group's Conference Organizer will make and confirm reservations directly with St. Malo and will be responsible for all arrangements, including final counts and billing.

Saint Malo is not a hotel or a resort and therefore is not operated as one. It is the Conference Organizer’s responsibility to go over the entire set of procedures with their respective retreat groups. If this is done, it will allow for a smooth and productive retreat experience for all.

Confirming a Reservation

Inquiries for available dates may be made either by phone or in writing.

The group’s Conference Organizer must send in a completed Reservation Form with a non-refundable deposit of fifty dollars ($50.00). When Saint Malo receives the form and the deposit, the Conference Organizer will be sent a letter of confirmation. Additional deposits will be required six months and three months in advance. Tentative reservations may be made by the Conference Organizer, but must be confirmed within 24 hours of the reservation.

Before the group arrives

The final attendance count must be submitted by the Conference Organizer seven (7) days in advance of the arrival schedule.

Also due at that time is a list of the participants in roommate grouping, a schedule of activities and other information as requested.

Final payment for all charges is due upon departure. Special arrangements may be made in advance with the Saint Malo Administrator for later payment – no later than ten days after departure.
