CAMP ST MALO SINGS
CD of the original 1958 album

The legend lives on . . .

The founder of both Camp St. Malo and the Cathedral Vestry Choir, Monsignor Joseph Bosetti, left an indelible mark on Denver's high society with his Grand Opera performances at the old Auditorium Theater in Denver. Many of the performers were members of his vestry choir who appear on this album under the direction of Bosetti's successor, Monsignor Richard Hiester.

"Camp St. Malo Sings" was released on CD in February, 2003. The original recording from 1958 featured the Men and Boys Vestry Choir from the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception and actor/singer Dennis Day, best known for his many years as a star on the Jack Benny Show.

BACK COVER and Song list :

To Sustain a Tradition . . .

"What you hear on this recording is the music of faith, and that is the way it should be because faith is what has kept Camp St. Malo going for the past 46 years. Heaven knows money has been hard enough to come by.

It should be no surprise, then, that this album has been put together for the purpose of raising money for Camp St. Malo, a summer gathering spot for boys 9 to 16 years old, of all faiths and all degrees of financial condition. The charge for attending the camp wouldn't pay expenses even if each boy could afford the full fee, so Camp St. Malo is always pressing for funds . . .

The considerable talents of the Cathedral choir are put to work for the camp. This combined group, men's choir and boy's choir, is one of the best in the United States . . .

Here is the result of their efforts, a program of music to lift your spirits and transport you, for a few minutes anyway, to the peaceful green meadows of St. Malo."
